Locally know as the most multicultural park of them all. The main reason for that is the 'Indian Neighborhood' just around the corner. That, together with the somewhat cheaper houses in the East that host mainly Moroccan, Turkish and Surinam people, creates a great atmosphere in the Oosterpark.

Sure, are park is a park. And the Oosterpark is not going to beat the Vondelpark of Wersterpark. But if you are in the East and up for a (sunny) break, you will be served well here. Guess you can safely say that this is the park with the least tourists in Amsterdam.
The famous statue 'De Schreeuw' (The Shout) has been placed in honor of director and writer Theo Van Gogh. He was murdered in Amsterdam in 2004.
