This stylish park is located in a very quiet neighborhood and surrounded by beautiful old villas, only ten minutes’ walk from Piaţa Romană. It was created in 1870 from a former drained swamp by the land owner George Ioanid, a wealthy bookseller and publisher. The name “Ion Voicu” was given after a renowned violin player who lived in a house nearby.

Although very small, it is one of Bucharest’s finest. Being designed after the English and French landscape gardens, it has all the elements of an idyllic garden: a pavilion, a pond, a bridge and statues. You can relax after a tiresome walk through the streets of the city, take a lot of pictures or read a book.
The park is wonderful in early spring, when the fruit trees are in full bloom.
