Commissioned by Carlsberg brewing magnate Carl Jacobsen in 1888, this beautiful and imposing building next door to Tivoli houses Northern Europe’s largest collection of ancient Mediterranean art as well as a fine collection of French Impressionist paintings.

The centre of the building opens up to reveal a glass-roofed, sub-tropical winter garden filled with statues, palm trees, a fountain and a tea room. Don't miss the eerie ancient Egyptian section in the basement, replete with mummies and wood-carved coffins.
