Prainha is one of the more beautiful places in Rio, located inside a protected area. The locals like to go there to get away of all the Copacabana/Ipanema/Barra crowd and be in a more relaxing place with an outstanding landscape. Prainha is also frequented by surfers.
Why you should visit it
Prainha is far from the center of Rio, but still worth the visit. You can be in a place not well known even for many cariocas. Only the real locals - people that lives in the surrounding neighborhoods - go there often and enjoy the beauty and the environment.
