The first, the oldest, the safest, the shortest......these four words can pretty much describe two blue cabins of Zagreb funicular. It was the first mean of public transportation in Zagreb, the oldest one that is still in use, never had an accident involving human victims and it's railways are only 66 m long.

Zagreb funicular is an operating museum exhibit. It's more than 120-year-old witness of modern Zagreb development. It had initially been steam-operated, and even after it switched to electric power, the restoration was performed with care so it's a genuine remain of late 19th century Zagreb. It's also one of the symbols of the city.
The ride costs only 5 HRK (less then 1 EUR) and it departs each 10 minutes. It operates even on holidays. Locals call it Uspinjaca(oos-pee-nyah-chuh).
