Impressive, yet sometimes a bit uncomfortable paintings by Croatian naive artists form an important part of national cultural heritage. Although most of the artists are self-taught, each of them developed a unique style, helping Naive getting enlisted among XXth century European art phenomenons.

Since it's really hard to explain what Naive art means, it's probably best to see it for yourself. This museum is a perfect place to start. It will give you a throughout insight into Croatian Naive art. If you get to like it, there's a little museum shop with great choice of souvenirs and printed editions.
