This square has been the center of medieval Zagreb. Today, it's the center of Croatian government and parliament. It's picturesque, cute, most of the people agree it's special and beautiful, bursting with history and real-life-stories. It has been a witness of so many changes, including being somewhat abandoned by the city life.
St Mark's church with its colored rooftop in the middle of the square has become the most recognizable sight of Zagreb. You will probably want to see it when you're visiting Zagreb. Though it's really one of the first things listed in each and every travel guide, it has managed to keep its charm. As soon as it loses it, we're removing this review;)
St Mark's church is usually closed. Only in winter, around Christmas, you can enter and check out its interior decorated by best Croatian artists.
