Ovocný Světozor is more than just a confectionery. Today with ten branches all over Prague (two most popular are at Václavské náměstí and in Vodičkova street), it was founded in 1992 but its tradition dates back to the 70'. Its offers desserts, tarts, cakes, ice-cream, sundaes. Prices may be higher than elsewhere but the goodies are worth it.
One thing you should definitely try while in the Czech Republic is our version of icecream sundae ('pohár' in Czech) - usually three scoops of ice-cream of your choice topped with fruits, huge cap of whipped cream and decoratad with chocolate flakes, nuts, sweet sauces or possibly a biscuit. If staff struggle with English, just point your finger.
I like the small branch in Sokolovská street (metro line B and C, Florenc) which is London-style decorated. Best icecream: dark chocolate, pistachio.
