Champs de Mars is the park with the most stunning view of the Eiffel Tower, which is an amazing backdrop for both picnics and photos. The park is exquisite in summer, bursting with colourful flowers and duck ponds, and joggers and cyclists looping around its perimeter. In winter you can still find sunny spots to pause and admire the iconic view.

In the evening the Eiffel Tower is magically lit and sparkles on the hour, every hour until 1 am. In summer, buskers have been known to drag entire pianos onto the grass to play rousing music for picnickers to sing along to.
Look out for the quaint historical marionette show – its design dates back to the era of Napoleon III.
