Le Marais is a great little quartier bordered by Hotel de Ville, Republique and the Bastille. It’s the gay capital of Paris as well as the Jewish quartier, and is famous for amazing little boutiques, delicious food, bustling, vibrant streets and a distinctly arty feel.

Le Marais is gourmet heaven. Locals line up all along the sidewalk of rue des Rosiers for falafel, and you can also pick up a mean pretzel. Look out for some amazing artisanal chocolate shops and specialty patisseries.
While it's still great for a Sunday wander, be aware that most shops in Paris are closed on Sundays so you might be stuck with window shopping.
