Ipanema is the beach where everybody goes. Despite of having a lot of tourists here, it's totally different from Copacabana. There are diferents zones in the beach. Posto 8 is gay-friendly, Posto 9 is 420-friendly and a little bit hippie and alternative too, and Posto 10 is more preppy but still laid-back.

Try mate (a herbal drink) with biscoito globo (globo's cookie). It's like a carioca tradition.
