Piazzale Michelangelo

Oltrarno  •  $

Piazzale Michelangelo is Florence’s most famous viewpoint, a wide terrace laid out in the 19th century on a hill above the Oltrarno. From its balustrade, visitors enjoy the classic panorama of the city, taking in the Duomo, the Palazzo Vecchio, the Ponte Vecchio and the Arno winding below, framed by the Tuscan hills. Especially popular at sunset, when the domes glow gold, it is an essential stop and a favourite spot to take in Florence in all its glory.
