Traders sell fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, fish, cheese, bread, flowers, spices and Bavarian specialities, and a traditional beer garden at its centre sits beneath a maypole. Equally good for shopping for quality produce or grabbing a snack and a beer, it is a Munich institution and a wonderful place to soak up the city’s food culture.
