Bessarabsky Market

Bessarabsky covered market hall in Kyiv

Bessarabska Square  •  $$

At the bottom of Khreshchatyk, the grand covered hall of Bessarabsky Market has been Kyivs belly since 1912. Under its arched roof you will find pyramids of pickles, mountains of berries in summer, jars of golden honey, cured fats and fragrant spices, all sold by traders happy to offer a taste. It is not the cheapest market in town but it is the most beautiful. Come hungry, sample the honey and salo, and haggle gently for a better price.
