Uppsala Cathedral is the largest and tallest church in Scandinavia, a magnificent Gothic edifice whose twin spires soar over the city and have dominated its skyline since the 15th century. Inside, its vast, soaring nave holds the tombs of Swedish kings, the reformer Gustav Vasa and the botanist Carl Linnaeus, along with beautiful chapels and a treasury. The spiritual heart of Sweden and the seat of the archbishop, it is an awe-inspiring building both inside and out and the most important landmark and sight in Uppsala.
