The Halifax Public Gardens are a beautifully preserved Victorian garden, among the finest in North America, with formal flowerbeds, fountains, a bandstand, ponds and winding paths behind ornate wrought-iron gates. A tranquil green oasis in the city centre, dating from the nineteenth century, they are a delightful place for a peaceful stroll and a beloved local landmark, especially lovely in summer bloom.
