Ranua is home to Finland's only polar bear, alongside around 50 Arctic species kept in enclosures set within natural northern pine forest.
A self-guided walking route of roughly 3 km loops past the enclosures. The park is open every day of the year, and each season looks different.
Local tip: Allow around two hours for the full loop. Paths are outdoors throughout, so dress for the weather whatever the month.
