Finished in 1689 and the oldest surviving church in Lapland, built with a royal grant of copper thalers for the settlers' spiritual life.
Bare, unpainted pine inside, lead-paned windows and a Renaissance pulpit. Burials from the 1700s still lie beneath the floorboards.
Local tip: Summer only, open 1 June to 7 August, 10am to 5pm. There is no heating, so it is cold even on warm days.
