Rhum Barbancourt Distillery Tours (Permanently Closed)

Permanently closed. Visitor tours are no longer offered; the distillery still produces. We keep this page because people still look for it, and because what happened here is part of the city’s story.

Haiti's best-known rum has been distilled from fresh cane juice at Damien since 1862, and once ran a Friday tour that finished with a tasting up to the fifteen-year-old.

The company advertises no visit, tasting or shop, and the last visitor accounts date from 2019. Production continues; the visitor programme does not.

Good to know: Buy the rum instead — Caribbean Supermarket in Pétion-Ville carries the full range including the aged bottlings.
