Founded in 1903 to plant and defend the Marjan pine forest, this citizens' society still campaigns against felling and building on the hill.
Members document illegal construction, fire risk and heritage on Marjan, publish their findings and organise volunteer planting and clean-up days.
Local tip: If you plan to walk Marjan, follow their Facebook page; volunteer days are announced there and helpers are welcome.
