The oldest art museum in the Pacific Northwest, founded in 1892 and occupying a Pietro Belluschi building on the South Park Blocks. It reopened in November 2025 after a major capital project that added close to 100,000 square feet of new and upgraded space, anchored by the Mark Rothko Pavilion linking the two existing buildings. The reinstalled galleries introduced around 300 recent acquisitions, including work by Marie Watt, Simone Leigh and Carrie Mae Weems, alongside standing strengths in Native American, Northwest, Asian and European art. Admission is charged, with free entry for visitors under eighteen and for members. The museum closes on Mondays.
