Mondo Crafts is the shop of MTU Mondo, an Estonian development and humanitarian organisation working in around a dozen countries on education, health, environmental and digital-skills programmes. The shop occupies part of Mondo’s Tallinn office in Telliskivi Creative City, a converted industrial estate behind the Baltic Station that also holds studios, galleries, bars and restaurants. Stock is made by artisan groups Mondo partners with in Ghana, Kenya, Uganda and Afghanistan, and includes woven baskets, beaded and leather accessories, embroidered bags and cushion covers, and shea butter products; sales support the makers and fund the organisation’s projects. The shop keeps weekday office hours rather than weekend ones, though the wider Telliskivi site trades daily.
