Ocean Sole is a Kenyan social enterprise that collects discarded flip-flops from beaches, waterways and waste dumps and turns them into sculptures and small homeware. The workshop at Karen Village on Ngong Road employs local carvers and finishers, and part of the revenue funds coastal clean-ups and marine conservation work. Guided tours follow the process from washing and gluing the salvaged rubber into blocks through carving, sanding and polishing, with artisans working at each station. Large animal sculptures, including elephants, giraffes and marine species, are produced alongside keyrings, bowls and bracelets sold in the on-site shop. Karen lies roughly 20 kilometres south-west of the city centre, near the Karen Blixen Museum and the Giraffe Centre.
