Vangel Dereban is a sixth-generation filigree master and one of the last people keeping Macedonian silver filigree alive as a working craft rather than a museum piece. In 2021 his Old Bazaar workshop was expanded to include the town’s first dedicated filigree school alongside a small family museum of historic tools and pieces. It’s a genuine heritage-preservation effort worth seeking out, even if it sits slightly off the main tourist path.
