The historic commercial street running up from the waterfront through the heart of the Old Town, still low-built and still recognisably a bazaar – stalls and shops selling Ohrid pearls, woodcarving and souvenirs. It is free to walk and holds 4.6 on Google across nearly 1,500 reviews.
The Chinar tree square sits at its heart, and the recently renovated Ali Pasha Mosque stands on the same street – a reminder that Ohrid's Ottoman layer is still standing in a city usually marketed on its Orthodox churches.
Local tip: Walk it early. By late morning in season the pearl shops and the tour groups arrive together.
