Bocanáriz was Chile's first proper wine bar, and it's still the address in Barrio Lastarria, pouring roughly 300 Chilean wines a night with a sommelier at every table. It holds Chile's only Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, a serious badge for a country covered in vineyards.
Order a vertical flight of one varietal across different vintages, or a flight grouped by flavour note like smoky, citrus or herbed, and let dishes such as roasted beef tongue or venison tataki follow the glass rather than fight it.
Local tip: Book ahead for weekend evenings — this is a Lastarria institution and tables go quickly after dark.
