This nine-to-ten-hour day trip runs from Muscat to Nizwa's 17th-century fort and souq, then up to the cool terraced orchards of Jebel Akhdar, the "Green Mountain," before stopping at the UNESCO-listed falaj irrigation system in Birkat Al Mouz. Lunch, halwa and coffee tastings and Nizwa Fort's entry fee are included.
Local tip: Bring a layer — Jebel Akhdar's elevation makes it noticeably cooler than the coast.
