Boom Boom Room has anchored Banja Luka's late-night scene for years from a spot right in the pedestrian heart of the city on Veselina Masleše. It runs a Funktion One sound system, reportedly the first installed in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the booking policy steers firmly away from folk music in favour of house, techno and themed nights that change through the week.
Doors open Wednesday to Saturday and the club runs on into the small hours at weekends, when the crowd is a genuine mix of Banja Luka regulars, university students and travellers passing through the Krajina region.
Local tip: Turn up after 11pm on a Friday or Saturday for the fullest floor, and check the club's socials beforehand to see what that week's theme night is.
