Kazamat

Kazamat sits inside the walls of Kastel Fortress itself, serving traditional Bosnian grilled meat and river fish on a terrace that looks straight out over the Vrbas. It is one of the most-reviewed restaurants in the city, and the fortress setting makes it a genuine destination rather than just somewhere to eat.

Expect generous portions of ćevapi, grilled meats and fish, plus a wine list leaning on regional producers, in a dining room built into the old fortress stonework.

Local tip: Reserve a terrace table in summer, the river view is the whole point of eating here.
