Chapari is one of the newer additions inside Tabriz's Grand Bazaar, tucked near the Mozaffariyeh entrance, but it is built to look and feel like a late nineteenth-century Tabriz house.
The dining room doubles as a small museum of the period, and the kitchen sends out classic Persian dishes such as fesenjan and chicken with rice in generous portions, opening with a welcome drink before the meal proper starts. Service is attentive and the pastries are worth saving room for.
Local tip: It gets busy at peak lunch hours since it sits right in the bazaar's flow of foot traffic, so go early or expect a short wait for a table.
