Husky Ranch Lapland is a small, family-owned husky farm in Kurtakko, run by Juho and Hanna together with a pack of more than 40 Alaskan huskies. It's a genuinely local operation rather than a big tour-company franchise, next to Ylläs fell.
They run husky safaris from short day trips through taiga forest to multi-day tundra adventures with accommodation in Äkäslompolo, and in summer and autumn you can visit the dogs at the ranch itself.
Local tip: Easy to reach from Kittilä airport or Kolari railway station if you don't have a car.
