A short boat trip out from Como's waterfront past the lakeside villas and gardens that are otherwise only visible from a distance on land. An hour is enough to get a proper sense of the lake's scale without committing to a full-day cruise, and it's a straightforward add-on to a day mostly spent in the old town.
Local tip: Sit on the side facing the shore rather than the open lake – most of what's worth seeing is the villas along the bank.
