Tregu Rus is Shkoder’s second-biggest market, and one of the best places to see everyday local life. Stalls are piled with fresh fruit and vegetables, fish, meat, cloth, tools and plenty of cheap secondhand finds. From about 07:00 until early afternoon, local farmers sell the produce they have brought in that morning.
It is worth a visit to watch the city wake up and trade. With just a few euros you can fill a bag with seasonal, locally grown fruit and vegetables. Local tip: come early for the freshest farmer produce.
