Sadly, this one is gone: Kafe Mockba — the deliberately dour, Soviet-themed bar run by film-makers Aki and Mika Kaurismäki, tucked behind heavy curtains in Kamppi — has closed. For years it traded in warm vodka, cold service and genuine Brezhnev-era kitsch.
Where to go instead: settle in at Plein or Grön for a memorable Helsinki meal, or join a Helsinki food tour that ends at a rooftop bar.
