Florence Kahn

Le Marais (4th)

A jewel of the Marais, as much for its face as its food: the blue-mosaic 1932 shopfront is a listed Monument Historique, and behind it is one of Paris’s loveliest Ashkenazi Jewish bakery-delis. Sit at a wooden table on rue des Écouffes for pastrami and pickles, strudel and Polish-style cheesecake — the towering ‘pletzel’ sandwich is the signature. Come mid-morning onward for a Yiddish brunch that feels timeless.

While you’re in the city, pair it with a Le Marais food walking tour.
