Fiskeriet Youngstorget

Fiskeriet Youngstorget, Oslo

Sentrum (Youngstorget)  •  ★ 4.4

Fiskeriet Youngstorget is a seafood restaurant and fishmonger at Youngstorget 2B in central Oslo, on a site run for 75 years by the fishmonger Erling Moe before the present business took it on in 2010. The refit kept maritime touches and drew on Mediterranean food markets for its design, with mosaic tiling and light fittings echoing the nearby Opera Passage. A fish counter and shop operate alongside the restaurant and bar, so diners eat while the counter trades around them, which is much of the character of the place. The kitchen emphasises sustainable sourcing, favouring wild-caught and line-caught fish and shellfish. A second branch opened in Bjorvika, overlooking the water near the Munch Museum, in spring 2025. The restaurant also caters and can host groups of up to 30. Booking is advisable in the evening. Youngstorget is a short walk from Stortorvet and Jernbanetorget, an area served by numerous tram and bus routes.
