Straddling the Charles River, the Museum of Science is a sprawling, hands-on institution with more than seven hundred exhibits, a planetarium and a towering lightning show in its Theater of Electricity. It is a firm favourite with families but great fun at any age. Buy combination tickets if you want the planetarium or Omni theatre, and arrive at opening to beat the school groups.
