Cervejaria Gazela

A tiny, tiled institution beside the Batalha theatre, Gazela has served its famous cachorrinhos, thin toasted hot dogs with melted cheese and a spicy sauce, since the 1970s. You perch at the counter, order a couple with a cold beer, and watch the cooks work the grill. It is cheap, quick and utterly Porto. Ask for the sauce on the side if you are unsure about the heat, and go off-peak for a stool.
