Bazza made its name as a stylish little caffè-bistro on Šibenik's Medulić Square, set in what was the town's first Dalmatian pastry shop and loved for its warm, quirky, colourfully designed room. It has since been renamed Bistro Pucalina, but it is the same much-loved spot on the same square — and still one of the highest-rated places to eat and drink in the old town.
The kitchen does international dishes with a Croatian accent — fish, risotto and hearty kačamak — alongside a genuinely good line in sweets, from cheesecakes and chocolate cakes to açaí bowls, washed down with local craft beer, wine or a bourbon. Kind staff, WiFi and outdoor tables on the square round it out.
Local tip: You will find it on the square under its new name, Bistro Pucalina; it is popular, so book ahead in high season and grab an outdoor table to watch the old-town comings and goings.
