Reverse Garbage in Marrickville is a not-for-profit co-operative that has been keeping useful things out of landfill since the 1970s. Its warehouse is an Aladdin cave of offcuts, fabric, timber, containers and oddments rescued from industry, all sold cheaply to makers, teachers and tinkerers. It is a paradise for anyone with a craft project or a school holiday to fill. Bring your own bags and an open mind, allow time to rummage properly, and ask about the workshops if you fancy learning a reuse skill.
