Folkehuset Absalon is a community house in a former church on Vesterbro, reimagined as a colourful gathering place that fights loneliness and builds community. Its best-known offering is the nightly communal dinner, where strangers share long tables and a home-cooked meal at a modest price, but it also hosts games, yoga, concerts and craft nights. Warm, inclusive and non-profit in spirit, it embodies the Danish idea of fællesskab, or togetherness.
