Alimentum is a small fine-dining restaurant in central Aalborg whose name is the Latin word for food. Much of what reaches the plate is grown or reared at the owners’ own smallholding, Lille Østergaard, and the remainder is drawn from North Jutland growers, fishermen and the waters of the Limfjord. Cooking is served as a set menu with optional wine pairings, and the kitchen holds Denmark’s organic dining certification alongside a Michelin star awarded in 2025. The dining room is deliberately understated, with pale timber, textiles and an open pass rather than formal starch. Opening is limited to a few evenings each week, so booking well ahead is sensible.
