The Red Terror Martyrs Memorial Museum, close to Meskel Square, is a small museum depicting photos with captions about how bad the the 17 years (1974 - 1991) of the Communist Derg regime was. It is a nice museum to learn the history of Ethiopia few decades back.
You will learn how bad the Derg Regime was by looking at photos of deceased, ways the Derg used for torture, how parties against secretly communicated ,etc It shows also some facts how the rule of Emperor Haile Sillassie I was not favoured This museum is free to visit and visitors may donate at the end of their visit.
