Gilles Street Market

Gilles Street Market, Adelaide

Adelaide Showgrounds

Gilles Street Market began in 2008 at the former Gilles Street Primary School in central Adelaide, where it established itself as one of the city's earliest dedicated fashion and design markets. In April 2018 it moved to the Adelaide Showground at Wayville, taking over the Old Brick Dairy Pavilion off Leader Street, and now trades under the name Gilles at The Grounds. More than a hundred stallholders sell fashion, homewares, jewellery and design pieces alongside vintage and second-hand clothing and food stalls, with an emphasis on independent and locally made goods. The market runs on selected dates through the year rather than every week, with daytime sessions from 9am to 3pm and occasional evening sessions, so checking the current calendar before travelling is necessary. Live music and children's activities run alongside the stalls on market days. Paid parking is available at the Showground and Adelaide Showground railway station serves the venue directly, with bus routes into the city centre.
