Café Papeneiland

Café Papeneiland, Amsterdam

Jordaan

One of Amsterdam’s oldest and most photogenic “brown cafes,” dating to 1642, on a corner where the Prinsengracht and Brouwersgracht canals meet in the Jordaan. Low beams, Delft tiles, sand-strewn floors and a famous apple pie — a cosy, quintessentially Dutch spot for a beer or jenever by the water.
