Astor

City centre

One of Athens’ oldest cinemas, screening since the 1920s and given a stylish makeover when it reopened in 2015. It’s a double draw: a programme of sharp indie films plucked from festivals like Berlin, Sundance and SXSW, and a magnificent 14-metre wooden bar — reputedly the longest in the city — that’s a destination in its own right for a pre- or post-film negroni. Catch a movie, then linger for a drink.

While you’re in the city, pair it with a Athens after-dark food & wine tour.
