Dalga Beach

Mardakan, Absheron Peninsula

Dalga Beach Aquapark Resort is a water park and beach resort on the Caspian shore at Mardakan, on the Absheron Peninsula outside Baku. Construction began in 2012 and the resort was inaugurated on 26 May 2015, ahead of the European Games held in Baku that year. It covers roughly 68,000 square metres and is the largest water park in Azerbaijan. Facilities include ten pools, among them a wave pool, a surfing pool, a women-only pool and a children's pool, together with several slides, five restaurants and villa accommodation. Jet skiing, kayaking, wakeboarding and organised pool parties are also offered. Opening is seasonal and runs through the day in summer, with slide operation sometimes limited to shorter windows. Admission prices differ substantially between Azerbaijani residents and foreign visitors, and no fixed price list is displayed at the entrance, so confirming the rate before entering is sensible. The resort lies roughly 30 kilometres from central Baku and is reached by taxi or local bus.
