Originally conceived to showcase Iberian architecture to the visitors of the 1929 World Expo, the Poble Espanyol outlived the Expo and became an open-air architecture in it's own right. It was means to showcase an ideal village in Spain, and the popularity of the exhibit meant that it is still operating today.

This is great fun for the whole family, featuring a number of restaurants, a museum and activities for children. During the summer, you'll find a lot of concerts and other cultural events, including an open-air cinema, and there is actually a number of nightclubs there as well.
