Make no mistake - this is where Barcelonese families have gone on weekends for years and years. And it's just plain, simple fun, what with rollercoasters and other staples of amusement parks all over the world. As an added bonus, Tibidabo is also the highest point in the mountain surrounding the city and has a great view.

Fun fair aside, there's a lovely little, and little used, church at the top - visible from the whole city. The way up there has a bit of history to it too: the railway connecting Tibidabo to the city is the oldest in Spain, and the stations are gorgeous. A historic tram connects to the last leg, the funicular taking you all the way to the top.
If you sort of leave the area and go down the road a bit, there's a little lunch place, where the fair employees go for lunch.
