The fingerboard shop at Boxhagener Strasse 14 in Friedrichshain now trades independently as ASI Berlin Fingerboard Shop, having opened in December 2010 as the Berlin branch of Blackriver, the German brand founded in 1999 as a maker of miniature skateboard ramps. Fingerboarding is skateboarding in miniature, performed with two fingers on a board a few centimetres long, and has a competitive scene with its own world championships. The shop stocks fingerboards, trucks, wheels, bearings, tape and ramp sets across a range of brands, and a back room holds a miniature skatepark of bowls, ledges and ramps used for testing decks and for informal sessions, which customers are free to use. It has served as a gathering point for the German fingerboard scene for over a decade, and staff are accustomed to explaining setups to newcomers. It is a short walk from Warschauer Strasse station on the U1, U3 and S-Bahn lines, in a part of Friedrichshain dense with skate and streetwear shops.
